Money Transfer Cost Calculator
The fee is in the rate, not the receipt.
How it is calculated
Every transfer has two costs: the fee on the receipt and the spread — the gap between the rate you get and the mid-market rate you see on Google. On a 5,000 AED transfer, a 1.5% spread is 75 AED you never see itemised.
Compare providers on what the recipient receives, not on the fee. A "zero fee" transfer with a wide spread usually costs more than a 25-AED fee at a fair rate.
Providers that price at or near mid-market and charge a transparent fee are consistently cheapest for AED → INR, PKR, PHP, EGP and GBP corridors.
Providers that price at the mid-market rate with a transparent fee are consistently the cheapest way to send money from the UAE. Compare the recipient amount before you send.

Where do I find the mid-market rate?
Type the currency pair into Google or any rate site — the number shown is the mid-market rate. Exchange houses buy and sell either side of it.
Is the exchange house cheaper than the bank?
Usually yes for cash, but the spread varies by corridor and by day. Check the recipient amount every time; loyalty is expensive in remittances.
How much does a 1% spread cost a year?
If you send 4,000 AED a month, a 1% spread is 480 AED a year — more than most people's bank fees.
